Develops skills in new lab techniques when needed for a project through courses and seeking out experts. Trains team members in laboratory techniques, critical thinking, experimental design and reviews results. Collaborates with other team members on various projects and interacts with other colleagues on the work floor and institute. Makes independent decisions, and presents data on conferences and team meetings. Co-writes and proof-reads manuscripts/grant applications with the PI and other team members. Manages maintenance of small and large animals and performs surgeries. Oversees and coordinates main laboratory tasks, such as ordering, lab management, and EHS.Required QualificationsThe applicant must have a minimum of a Master's and/or Phd degree and at least 4-5years of experience in a research lab setting, and be able to show supervisory management skills of various projects . Demonstrated experience in leading genotyping, animal breeding and animal surgeries, as well as cloning, immunohistochemistry, confocal imaging, cell culture, qPCR, western blot, and CRISPR-related work. Willingness to be flexible, learn new techniques and seek assistance from other expert colleagues is a must. Candidate must have a record of independence in experimental work and decision making. Excellent attendance record.Desired QualificationsKnowledge of School of Dentistry policies and procedures.
