Reporting to the Technical Director and serving as a member of the Technical Direction and Process Validation (TDPV) team, the Senior Process Engineer will collaborate with Process Engineers and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to evaluate potential projects and opportunities involving new construction, fleet-based solutions, and the utilization of existing customer assets.Key responsibilities include preparing detailed process design calculations; developing and reviewing Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs); providing technical guidance and support to Sales and Commercial Engineering teams; conducting site and field audits of existing plants to evaluate performance and troubleshoot operational issues; and providing operational safety input to field services, engineering, and design teams. The Technical Direction and Process Validation team works with a wide range of water and wastewater treatment technologies, including clarification, media filtration, dissolved air flotation (DAF), ultrafiltration (UF), reverse osmosis (RO), remineralization, ion exchange (IX), electro-deionization (EDI), membrane bioreactors (MBR), degasification, adsorption, and solids dewatering systems.Pure water applications include municipal and industrial water treatment for drinking water, boiler feedwater, process makeup water, desalination, and microelectronics manufacturing. The team also supports industrial wastewater treatment applications for discharge and reuse, cooling tower makeup and blowdown, food and beverage processing, semiconductor manufacturing, and municipal and industrial wastewater treatment.Essential Responsibilities:Coordinate with Sales and Commercial Engineering (CE) Teams to support opportunities including screening new opportunities during WIN reviews for regional and global projects Provide technical and process support to meet Sales and Commercial Engineering team’s respective needs. Represent Veolia at customer meetings from a process perspective to answer technical questions during bid discussions and project questions. Be responsible for the creation, development, and/or assessment of process design estimates and/or calculations, and block flow diagrams (BFD) and/or process flow diagrams (PFDs) for new and unique applications within the MWIS business, including but not limited to new greenfield projects, retrofit projects on existing sites, and upgrades to acquired assets.Prepare P-table (Process) documentation (feedwater design basis, mass balance, process design calculations, simulations, and projections, chemical injection rates and consumption, consumables, power consumption and redundancy and sparing strategies. This information is required to be prepared in advance and in preparation for detailed process review during a P-Table meeting. Participate in P-table (Process) reviews prior to proposal submission to ensure your proposed solution is capable of meeting and achieving the treatment system’s goals and product specifications over the entire duration of the contract. Participate in P-Table reviews of other SME team member’s projects as a peer reviewer, as required. For qualifying deals, meeting certain financial thresholds, prepare and submit P-table documentation to the Business Sustainability and Performance (BS&P) Technical Validation team to Veolia headquarters in Paris, France. Provide timely technical and process responses to the BS&P technical team as they complete their validation reviews. Coach and mentor other TDPV team members, sharing your expertise, knowledge, and background in your specific subject matter area of expertise to develop and elevate the entire team’s working knowledge Provide remote and/or sometimes on-site process training to field operations team members, helping them to understand a particular system’s design and how it is intended to operate and function. Support lifecycle cost analysis while comparing, and contrasting, different flowsheets to arrive at the best technical and economic solution Work with Sales and CE teams to apply process design strategies in order to position the company well in the early stages of project development, to increase the probability of success. Develop and maintain relationships with Regional Sales Managers and Local Representatives and other Commercial Engineering teams.Support new MWIS fleet asset development from a process and operational safety perspective
