SENIOR SECRETARY

Yellowstone County is seeking a Senior Secretary to perform a combination of high-level office support and secretarial duties, requiring independent judgment, analysis, and latitude in decision-making and problem solving to administer assigned programs and to support office functions.

Examples of Duties:

- Researches and assembles moderately complex information from a variety of sources for the completion of forms or preparation of reports;

- Processes various forms, applications, permits or other documents requiring in-depth, sub-professional knowledge of the department's functions;

- Types and/or word processes complex and/or sensitive documents from drafts, notes, dictated tapes or brief instructions, which may include correspondence, reports, records, forms, meeting agendas and minutes, personnel records, legal documents, policy manuals, etc.;

- May compose correspondence and reports;

- Coordinates special department and/or division projects;

- Proos and checks typed and other materials for accuracy, completeness and compliance with departmental policies and regulations;

- Establishes, organizes and maintains complex department filing systems;

- Enters and retrieves computer data; generates computer reports and/or spreadsheets;

- Schedules appointments, meetings, work activities and other functions as required;

- Maintains records of fiscal activities to track expenditure of allocated funds, and incoming fees and other revenues.

Minimum Qualifications:

- Graduation from high school or equivalent; and

- Two (2) years' experience in the performance of office assistant/secretarial duties; or

- The equivalent combination of experience and training

A Senior Deputy County Attorney performs the widest variety of professional legal work as assigned in the County Attorney\'s Office; develops, prepares, and presents the most complex issues and cases requiring appearance before administrative, legislative and judicial tribunals along with associated work and trial work; and performs related work as required.
