Community Development Specialist

Location is flexible, and will be considered in Carter, Dawson, Fallon, Prairie or Wibaux County.QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

Valid driver's license, some use of a personal vehicle may be required with appropriate mileage reimbursement

Excellent writing, research and project management skills

Demonstrated competency in persuasive writing, team collaboration, effective verbal and written communication and attention to detail

Working knowledge of State, Federal and private grant/loan programs

Experience with community planning projects and downtown revitalization

Competency in development and tracking of project budgets and financial management

Experience with public speaking and group facilitation

Skilled in coordinating large, complex projects, meeting deadlines and working effectively under pressure.

Ability to prepare written reports to funding partners and present summaries of collaboration and leveraging efforts to project committees

Some travel within the five county service area; occasional travel outside the region, including overnight travel to attend meetings, workshops and training seminars

Ability to work a flexible schedule, with occasional evening hours

Ability to communicate with the public, co-workers, and stakeholder groups on a regular basis

Three years of experience, or a Bachelor Degree, desired

DUTIES INCLUDE:

Facilitate community projects that contribute to successful business operations and vibrant communities

Administer federal, state, or foundation grants

Project planning, outreach and research

Grant writing

Project Management

Administrative, record keeping, project budget management and compliance

Provide administrative support related to all activities of the EPEDC

Prepare minutes, in addition to quarterly and annual reports to funding partners
