Job Description The Director of Operations is a team member in the Enrollment Services area, which comprises the University Registrar, Financial Aid, Student Accounts and the OneCard offices. The Director of Operations is responsible for providing complex technical assistance and support of Ellucian Colleague SIS, CSGold, Slate, Informer and all external platforms that are integrated with our SIS. The Director will also perform complex technical support duties pertaining to the use of ERP modules such as those serving financial aid; serves as an advanced module user and the primary liaison with Information Technology regarding the resolution of financial aid module problems; and performs related work as assigned.Current Salary Range : $70,000 – $90,000 based on experience Duties & ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the creation, setup, testing and modification of the financial aid module, updating FA rules in Colleague and preparing for the financial aid processing year.Liaison with Information Technology on all technical aspects of creating, testing, upgrading and modifying the FA module in Colleague.Tests and prepares financial aid files for packaging. Runs simulations, batch posts scholarships, calculates NJ Tuition Assistance Grant (TAG) awards, creates estimated aid letters for new incoming students, and revises package letters when aid is adjusted due to changes in enrollment, housing status, and ISIR transaction updates.Responsible for Common Originations and Disbursement (COD) processing and reconciliation of federal grants, transaction processing and the import / export of Institutional Student Information Report (ISIR) data.Creates and runs reports for operational needs of FA; reviews error lists; makes data corrections.Runs batch processes for financial aid for PELL corrections, latest ISIR transactions, and unlinked ISIR records.Manages the Communications Management module for financial aid. Creates, reviews, and revises rules associated with missing information requests to students and links SAR comments codes as determined by the Department of Education.interact with the Enrollment Services team for ad-hoc reporting and training; maintains computed fields as well as developing scripts for the end-users.Functions as the primary liaison with Information Technology (IT) staff regarding departmental use of the Colleague module(s); provides advanced user support to Enrollment Services staff.Familiarity with exporting and extracting data as it pertains to internal and external databases.Performs technical administrative duties; back end support for modifications to the SIS for compliance with regulations.Responds to various inquiries and correspondence; prepares information and data requested for administrative review; prepares reports, files, and other documents.Interact with departmental external vendors to support acquired complex computer application systems, providing for the definition and resolution of technical and procedural problems, and the adaptation and maintenance of the applications and systems.Qualification StandardsInitiate and help coordinate complex, Colleague related system projects.Communicate with technical and non-technical users.Prioritize work while maintaining a high level of customer service.Perform a variety of technical systems analysis and testing.Experience with Entrinsik Informer preferred.Knowledge of the relational database model, database concepts, query and data extraction tools, i.e. Uniquery, SQL, UnidataUtilize organizational skills and initiative to streamline processes.Provide a working knowledge of design, development and implementation of an integrated management information system, system applications and limitations, and other related areas.Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve student and administrative disputes.Attends meetings, conferences, and workshops to stay current with industry practices.During peak registration periods, start-of-term and open house, extended hours are required.The University Registrar may assign additional duties as needed.EducationBachelor’s degree in Information Technology or an Associates Degree in Computer Science / Programming with at least two years of programming or systems development experience.
