Description We are in the process of hiring a Staff Accountant in the Real Estate & Property industry, based in New York, New York. The selected candidate will be tasked with a variety of accounting and financial responsibilities, including managing tenant receipts and non-tenant disbursements, as well as assisting with collection activities. Responsibilities: Accurately record daily tenant receipts in Accounts Receivable module Apply prepaid rent receipts to rent charges on a daily basis Record non-tenant receipts and disbursements in the General Ledger module Assist in the collection of tenant financials and outstanding receivables Distribute department mail as needed Utilize skills in Journal Entries, Cash Management, Account Reconciliation, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, and Microsoft Excel Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary Handle processing of customer credit applications efficiently Maintain accurate customer credit records. Requirements Must have a thorough understanding of Journal Entries Proficiency in Cash Management is required Experience with Account Reconciliation is essential Knowledge of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne software is necessary Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel are mandatory Real Estate & Property industry experience is preferred Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team Should have strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously Proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment is required Must demonstrate a high level of professionalism and integrity CPA certification or progress toward certification is preferred Knowledge of real estate accounting principles and regulations is a plus Familiarity with financial reporting standards is necessary Experience with financial software and databases is required Must possess strong attention to detail and accuracy in work.
