You will be part of a software development team that designs, develops, tests, implements, documents, and supports transportation related applications. The position requires working closely with BNSF employees, both business and technical, to achieve desired business outcomes. Note that while the internal title is a Manager Network Control Systems, the Senior Software Engineer fuctions of this role are described below:

Responsibilities for the role include:
  • Develop C# .NET Framework and .NET Core based highly available Windows Services, IIS web solutions, and desktop client applications.
  • Assist in designing solutions for complex technical projects based on requirements, industry standards, and/or internal business user needs.
  • Lead development efforts and participate in feature design and planning activities.
  • Communicate openly and effectively about ideas, status, and changes to timelines in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Assist in researching complex technical issues including new technologies, root cause analysis, and tuning system performance.

Demonstratable Experience With:

  • SQL server

Qualifications (Preferred):
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Programming, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Experience leading a team of developers
  • Experience with Azure DevOps Server
  • Experience with Akka.net
  • Experience with OpenID Connect/OAuth2
