Job Summary:

Seeking an organized, detail oriented, and people-friendly bookkeeper to join our small nonprofit. Must be self-motivated, able to work independently, and supportive of our core values: Honesty, Trust, Integrity, Dependability, and Inclusion.

The ideal candidate is competent and confident, with experience in all general accounting responsibilities to include accounts payable, accounts receivable, job costing and invoicing, deposits, receivables management and collections, and payroll.

Responsible for managing the full cycle of accounting duties ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations to include:

Manage all aspects of the general ledger.

Process accounts payable and receivable.

Reconcile bank and credit card statements.

Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Produce monthly financial reports and statements, including Profit and Loss Statements, Balance, Sheets, and Cash Flow Statements.

Conduct month-end and year-end close processes.

Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and reconciling transactions.

Preparation of bi-weekly payroll, to include, employee payroll deductions, vacation, sick leave, and time cards.

Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts to assist in financial planning and contracting.

Provide support to the Executive Director including assistance in general office work such as answering phones, creating Packing Slips for items sold, communicate with customers as needed, assisting in keeping the work place safe and clean, and assist with building a positive work culture.

Qualifications:

Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles.

Attention to detail and accuracy in work.

Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAGE, Excel, Word, and Outlook).

Highly organized person with time management skills.

Problem-solving abilities.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong communication skills

Ability to pass background check.

People-friendly and supportive of our Mission, our clients, and our team.

This is a 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday 8am – 4:30 pm job. However, as acclamation to the position becomes stronger flexibility in some aspects of the scheduling is possible.
