Accounts Receivable Specialist

Description Job Description:The Accounts Receivable Clerk will manage the collection and recording of our organization's financial transactions, focusing primarily on maintaining the inflow of revenue. Their main responsibilities will include invoice processing, handling payment transactions, and resolving account discrepancies. An Accounts Receivable Clerk needs to demonstrate strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and a sound understanding of basic accounting principles and procedures.Responsibilities:

Create and send out invoices, follow up on, collect, and allocate payments.

Carry out billing, collection, and reporting activities according to specific deadlines.

Perform account reconciliations.

Monitor customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments, and other irregularities.

Research and resolve payment discrepancies.

Follow established procedures for processing receipts, cash, etc.

Investigate and resolve customer queries.

Process adjustments, refunds, claim documents and checks for customers.

Prepare bank and general ledger reconciliations.

Assist in general financial management and analysis.

Requirements

Qualifications:

An associate degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field or equivalent work experience.

Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounts receivable principles.

Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.

Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel) and accounting software.

High-level numerical and analytical skills.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

Proactive problem-solving skills and organizational abilities.

Good time management and the ability to prioritize tasks.

Familiarity with relevant legal requirements.

HS Diploma or GED required. 24 months of brokerage or transportation experience and/or customer service experience required.
