Sr. CAE Engineer, Durability (Salary Range: $133,037/yr - $150,200/yr): Design durability simulations to test vehicle durability. Test simulations to help design cabin features to meet the highest level of performance standards in the automotive industry. Create and maintain Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) Models for all structural simulations including NVH (Noise, Vibration and Harshness), durability, closures, and other static and quasi-static simulations. Review and provide technical assessments of supplier CAE reports. Own specifications and requirements for parts to ensure the product is delivered as intended. Develop efficient designs, as well as leading the integration of these interfacing components. Maintain the vehicle durability model post-process analysis results and make design recommendations to multi-disciplinary teams. Work with suppliers to ensure products are made and delivered on time. Support the integration of components into prototype and production systems. Review and approve electrical and mechanical interface design simulations, analysis, design demonstration plans, and software verification requirements. Create technical documentation and reports to include the Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis and the Design Verification Plan & Report.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field. 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience as a Mechanical Engineer, CAE Engineer, or a closely related occupation.

SKILLS: Must have:

1. Experience creating Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) simulations to evaluate structural stiffness and durability of automotive structures for static and dynamic conditions.

2. Experience creating Finite Element Analysis (FEA) models of automotive components and subassemblies using automotive industry standard CAE modeling tools: ANSA, META, or HYPERMESH (HyperWorks).

3. Experience applying CAE techniques (Non-linear static analysis including modal analysis, random vibration analysis, and stress-life fatigue analysis) to CAE models to assess performance in any of the following: Durability, Stiffness, or Strength.

4. Experience using Computer-Aided Three-Dimensional Interactive Applications (Nastran, OptiStruct, Abaqus, LS-DYNA) to analyze products created with CAD.

5. Experience creating technical documentation and reports to include the Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA), and the Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R).
