AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Construction Technician (Water/Wastewater) for immediate employment in San Diego, CA on a state of the art Advanced Water Purification Plant. The Quality Control Inspector will be responsible for the effective observation and documentation of the construction activities and will interact closely with the Quality Control Manager (QCM) and contractors.  The (QCI) is the primary point of contact to the construction superintendents and foreman and serves in this role being responsible to the Quality Control Manager in providing the necessary quality coordination with contractors and third-party inspection teams.  Experience with Municipal Water / Wastewater Construction projects along with the installation and startup of large wastewater process systems, associated electrical and automated controls equipment is a preference.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:Know Drawings and Specifications – 100%.Know all RFIs, Submittals and other change notices documents impacting the work in the field. Ensure construction staff are utilizing and building from the latest and most recent construction documents. Monitor conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties. Know all approved submittals.  Verify “approved” or “approved as noted” and ensure comments are incorporated into the work.Performs daily field inspections and maintains inspection records. Conduct visual inspections of the work per project specifications, code and building standards prior to closure, backfill etc. during activity executionPrepare a running “quality” punch list.  Coordinate with contractor for closureCoordinate with and compile associated documentation of testing data with 3rd party materials testing lab and their on-site personnel.Maintain records of quality testing such as pipe pressure testing, soil density records etc. Actively participate and Prepare resolution of project deficiency, including reportingMaintain Project Deficiency and Noncompliance logs.Take and file photographs documenting the work (daily)Prepare a comprehensive Daily Report for the work being performed.Actively participate in the preparation of the monthly “quality control” report. Under minimal direction, relies on extensive experience and independent judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Tracks quality assurance progress. Provides input to documentation for area and equipment turnovers.
