My mother is looking for an experienced female caregiver in a ranch style (no stairs) home near downtown Los Altos and Stanford. My mother is 97years old, in good physical shape and in fair mental shape with memory issues so English skills are important. She likes to discuss many topics but will repeat herself.
The caregiver will be provided a private bedroom with bathroom plus daily income, food, gas stipend, etc. We are looking for Wed morning - Fri morning with 2 overnight stays.
The caregiver position duties:
Meal planning and preparation of breakfast, lunch and dinner. Simple cooking skills OK.
Assist with taking medication accurately and reliably, daily living tasks and ensure her safety. —. Assist with simple daily exercises.
Transportation to appointments, meals out and occasional meals with friends.
Laundry, change linens and towels as needed. Housekeeper comes every 2 weeks to help.
Shopping for food and other supplies.
Assisting with showering/shampooing her hair. Applying lotions and creams, using PureWick
Sometimes help with dressing (Ex: socks, shoes)
Companionship with my mother and other services as needed.
Note: Interest in current events a plus as she likes to review the day's news and is able to carry on short conversations.
During her rest time you are free to read, watch TV, be on the computer, do crafts, etc. Able to leave for short periods up to 1 hour almost daily.
Requirements:
Valid CA driver license, a reliable vehicle for transportation, and clean driving record.
Ability to lift/pull 20 pounds (some supplies delivered to the house)
Must pass background check, be local US citizen
