Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience.

10 years of experience in technical program management, managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.

7 years of experience in leadership roles with direct reports.

5 years of experience managing projects.

Preferred qualifications:

7 years of experience as a supervisor.

Experience in engineering productivity or related Cloud technology.

Ability to exercise technical judgment and influence team members in solving software engineering issues.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers. Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage various Engineering-specific programs and teams.The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products. We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. These are the essential building blocks for excellent, safe, and coherent experiences for our users and drive the pace of innovation for every developer. We look across Google’s products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers and strengthen existing systems. As the Core team, we have a mandate and a unique opportunity to impact important technical decisions across the company.The US base salary range for this full-time position is $208,000-$306,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Be a thought leader within Google and industry on the subject matter domain of the respective organization.

Establish a reliable and visible cadence for portfolio reviews, decision making, prioritization, and resource management (e.g., effective redeployment of machine and people resources leading to efficiency and utilization gains (e.g., mapping to the concept of Resource Stewardship)).

Drive measurable program performance gains correlated to execution velocity. Establish governance over prioritization decisions to ensure alignment with key performance indicators.

Be a change advocate responsible for initiating and leading multiple organizations through pivots needed to address shifts in business trends and priorities.

Lead strategic planning framework for a complex program portfolio including direct influence over resourcing decisions, planning cadence, and planning stakeholders.
