Position Summary: The Quality Manager will work within the Quality department and will report to the Quality Director. They will work closely with Hoffman support departments, Hoffman project teams, design professionals, trade contractors, and consultants. The Quality Manager will review design documents prior to construction start to identify constructability concerns. They will help project teams plan and execute quality work on the jobsite to ensure products and services meet client requirements and exceed expectations. This position will be a combination of on project site and in-office.Salary Range: $100,000 - $140,000 annuallyEssential Responsibilities:

Implement and manage project-specific QA/QC Programs.

Review and approve trade contractor QA/QC Programs to ensure alignment with general contractor and client program requirements.

Manage Quality Team to ensure high performance and integration with the overall project.

Lead work groups to meet quality standards of Hoffman Construction and the project.

Coach site staff in conducting inspections and convey Hoffman Quality standards of practice to site teams.

Review design documents to identify constructability errors or omissions.

Investigate, understand, and convey technical product properties and how they interact.

Independently solve problems regarding building materials interactions and details.

Be a resource and mentor for developing staff and be a conduit for technical information throughout the company.

Frequent travel throughout the PNW to interface with project teams, be involved with specific meetings on-site, and support teams and trades in executing high quality installations.

Qualifications: Position Related Skills

Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Teams), and have a general understanding of working within a computer network.

Proficient in project management software such as Prolog, Procore, and Building Information Model (BIM360).

Working knowledge and experience with electrical, plumbing, CSA, and commissioning preferred.

Experience with field and personnel management preferred.

Experience showing focus on quality of the built product preferred.

Experience developing systems to institute effective quality practices across different skillsets and project types preferred.

Highly developed visual observation and interpretation skills.

Ability to work well and maintain a cooperative attitude through high-pressure situations.

Excellent time-management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work while frequently interrupted by phone calls and questions on work in progress.

Excellent written and oral communication skills with an ability to develop strong interpersonal relationships.

Ability to work closely with variety of trade and craft people in a fieldwork situation. Patience and professionalism are essential.

Highly developed visual observation and interpretation skills.

Must be a strong team player with the ability to collaborate with various personnel within and across departments and at all levels of leadership.

Professional Experience and Education

At least five (5) years’ construction and/or building design experience in one or more of the following categories preferred: on-site construction management; structural, mechanical, electrical, or architectural design (no license required).

Experience with complex MEP systems required.

Experience in commercial or manufacturing projects preferred.

High School diploma or GED required.

Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

Must be able to remain in a stationary position in an office environment more than 50% of the time, with the occasional requirement to move about the construction site.

Must be able to access work being done on multiple levels.

Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machines, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.

Occasionally uses machinery and other tools to operate, activate, use, prepare, inspect, place, detect, and position materials.

Specific vision abilities include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus in an outdoor environment.

Must be able to; visually inspect work, look for small defects, and small parts, and/or operate machines (including inspection); use measurement devices; and/or assemble or fabricate parts.

The worker is required to have the ability to perform duties such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; reading printed and digital documents.

Must be able to occasionally work in proximity to loud equipment.

Must be able to wear hearing protection as necessary.

Often required to communicate with customers and coworkers in an office setting and, on the phone/digital meetings.

Mental alertness, accuracy and attention to detail required.
