ARPA-H – Mission Office Travel Support SpecialistAmentum is looking for experienced personnel to expand our healthcare technology development support capabilities at the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H).Founded in 2022, ARPA-H is a Federal research funding agency that supports transformative biomedical and health breakthroughs – ranging from the molecular to the societal – to provide health solutions for all. ARPA-H advances high-potential, high-impact biomedical and health research that cannot be readily accomplished through traditional research or commercial activity to develop solutions to society's most challenging health problems.We are interested in individuals who have experience supporting executive-level Government personnel at a federal or State agency. Travel personnel will provide Front Office support to an ARPA-H Mission Office, regularly interacting with Government leadership - i.e. the Office Director, Deputy Director, Assistant Director for Program Management (ADPM), Program Analyst (PA), and technical Program Managers (PMs) to coordinate official travel related to technology development programs.Responsibilities will include:

Coordinating travel for Government personnel and preparing all associated travel documents in accordance with ARPA-H guidelines using the ARPA-H Travel System

Preparing and reviewing manually and electronically generated travel authorizations and vouchers

Providing travel help desk support, applying knowledge of and experience in applying Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) travel policies, Federal Travel Regulation (FTR), and HHS Financial Management Regulations (FMR)

Providing expertise in researching and interpreting the FTR; Travel System Operations / Help Desk / Training

Administering the Government Travel Credit Card (GTCC) program in accordance with HHS Financial Management Regulations (FMR)

Processing passport / visa applications

Researching the Foreign Clearance Guide (FCG); Commercial Ticketing Office (CTO) operations, and use of GSA City Pair airfare rates

Processing permanent change of station (PCS) travel authorizations and vouchers​

Minimum Requirements:

Associate’s degree or higher – substantial relevant occupational experience (7 or more years) may be considered in lieu of degree requirement

At least two (2) years relevant experience

The demonstrated professionalism, maturity, sound judgement, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills necessary for daily interactions with executive-level audiences in a dynamic, high-visibility Front Office environment

Ability to work independently or in a team setting as circumstances dictate

Demonstrated knowledge of and proficiency in HHS travel policies, the Federal Travel Regulation (FTR), HHS Financial Management Regulations (FMR), and Travel Systems Operations

Demonstrated knowledge of the Government Travel Credit Card (GTCC) program

Demonstrated experience processing passport/visa applications

Familiarity with the Foreign Clearance Guide (FCG); Commercial Ticketing Office (CTO) operations and use of GSA City Pair airfare rates; processing permanent change of station (PCS) travel authorizations and vouchers

Highly Desired Attributes:

ARPA-H experience

Other ARPA agency (DARPA, IARPA, ARPA-E, etc.) experience

National Institute of Health (NIH), Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), or Department of Defense (DoD) experience

Office management experience that included responsibility for directing a variety of support services such as typing, mail processing, purchase of supplies and equipment, etc. Secretarial work that required monitoring and coordinating administrative and processing work of subordinate elements through a system of internal procedures, controls, production, progress reporting, etc., to insure the efficient operation of an organization. Military experience that included responsibility for directing a variety of support functions such as communications, property management, mail service, facilities and equipment maintenance, etc. In addition, qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following: OR B. Completed 1 full year of graduate level education at an accredited college or university in public administration, business administration, industrial engineering, industrial management, or other administrative or management fields related to the position to be filled; OR C. Have a combination of graduate education with a major in public administration, business administration, industrial engineering, industrial management or other administrative or management fields related to the position to be filled AND specialized experience (as described above), which is equivalent to the GS-05 level in the Federal Service.
