Machine Assembler/Field Service Technician (FAIRFIELD)
Independent Machine Co. is looking for a Machine Assembler/Field Service Technician to join our team in Fairfield NJ. The qualified candidate will perform machine start-up, training and repair of complex mechanical and electrical systems on a variety of small to large sized custom machinery while using a high degree of independent judgment and troubleshooting.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Must be a motivated self-starter and posses the ability to work independently
at customer sites and assembly shop
Working knowledge of electrical and machine control systems
Ability to troubleshoot machinery in a logical and systematic level
Strong mechanical skills, power tool and hand tool knowledge
Must have strong oral communication skills
JOB DESCRIPTION
Work in assembly shop to build and repair custom machinery
Read/Interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
Provide field service, machine start-up and FAT service activity as required
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Machine building experience required
Experience with control automation
Previous field service responsibility with overnight travel
Web Handling and converting equipment a plus.
REQUIRED EDUCATION
10 years of professional experience in mechanical assembly and 3 years field service
High School diploma or equivalent
Candidate must be able to travel (≤ 25%) and speak English
