Description We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in New York, New York. In this role, you'll be part of our accounting team, focusing on auditing for a government agency. This role is situated in a dynamic and fast-paced environment where your proficiency in Audit - Financial, Audit Prep, Account Reconciliation, and Microsoft Excel will be put to good use.Responsibilities: Assist in auditing for a government agency, ensuring a thorough and accurate process Maintain and reconcile accounts regularly to guarantee accuracy Utilize Microsoft Excel to manage and organize data effectively Contribute to the overall efficiency of the accounting department by performing other related duties as assigned Leverage your 2-4 years of experience in accounting to enhance the team's performance Collaborate with team members and other departments to improve financial processes Keep up-to-date with current financial regulations and industry standards Provide support to the senior staff members on complex auditing tasks as needed Ensure compliance with all internal controls and policies in all financial transactions Act as a resource for financial inquiries and audits Requirements Must hold a relevant degree in accounting, finance, or a related field Proven experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar financial position Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office programs Strong understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices Demonstrated skills in performing audit preparations and financial audits Expertise in account reconciliation and financial analysis Excellent analytical skills with a thorough attention to detail Exceptional numerical proficiency and problem-solving skills Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team High level of integrity and trustworthiness, with a commitment to upholding company ethics and client confidentiality.
