You will be responsible for regular hospital rounding and on-call duty. Supports the mission, vision, values and strategic goals of Methodist Health System.Your Job Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree, Masters of Divinity (or equivalent) Minimum of 4 units of Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE Accredited). Ability to relate to people of all ages, all religions, cultures, and ethnic groups. Ordination and/or endorsement from appropriate religious body. (completed or in process) 1 year hospital experienceYour Job Responsibilities: Provide spiritual care and emotional support to patients, families, and visitors through regular rounding, clinical assignments, and code/crisis response. Provides grief support and counseling as appropriate to deceased’s family and friends. Provide staff support through regular rounding, organized support programs, and debriefings. Facilitates worship services and rituals as needed. Participates in other administrative duties as assigned under the direction of the clinical manager. Participates as clinical mentor for Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) Residents and Students. Assists in locating and contacting next of kin for patients arriving in ED via ambulance. Coordinates and facilitates release and transport of deceased bodies to appropriate agency. Interfaces with external agencies/organizations inclusive of (but not limited to) funeral homes, Medical Examiners, Organ and Tissue donation, community support groups, religious organizations. Collaborates with local religious leaders, volunteers, visiting clergy and spiritual caregivers.
