As a Staff Accountant, you'll be responsible for preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. Many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close will be your reponsibility. This position will also require you to participate in compliance, as well as communicate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This role also involves the production of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Aid in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Keep up fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Participate in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Offer descriptions of a large number of financial data and communicate insights in a useful and understandable manner
Conduct month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Participate in various department-wide initiatives
Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed
Organize capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Maintain intricate journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll Requirements - Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Be detailed, flexible, and organized
Cash reconciliations experience preferred
Account analysis experience
Experience with general ledger
Proven knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Account reconciliation experience
Bank reconciliations experience
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
Current and relevant ERP system experience
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines
Demonstrated ability in strong analytical, quantitative and social skills
