Description We are offering a long-term contract-to-hire employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Clerk in San Diego, California. The successful candidate will be joining our team in the construction industry, where they will manage vendor invoices, ensure accurate record keeping, and handle inbound calls among other tasks. This is an Accounts Payable Clerk position, but you will also provide administrative support to the office. You will work with construction Project Manager and vendors to ensure that invoices are coded correctly. This A/P Clerk must have construction industry experience. Responsibilities: Efficiently process and verify vendor invoices received via email to avoid duplication Maintain and update customer credit records with high accuracy Utilize Microsoft Excel for data entry and other administrative tasks Reconcile statements monthly, ensuring all invoices are received and reaching out to vendors for any missing invoices Assist with the flow of paperwork, including filing and sending checks in the mail Handle inbound calls, transferring them as necessary Apply invoices to jobs and forward them to the Project Manager for review Use already established codes to process invoices, paying attention to details like invoice number, date, due date, and amount Provide support in maintaining an organized and efficient office environment.Requirements Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies effectively Solid experience in Accounts Payable (AP), ensuring all financial obligations are met in a timely manner Demonstrated expertise in managing Check Runs, ensuring proper authorization and documentation Proficiency in Coding Invoices, accurately associating expenses to the correct accounts Strong Data Entry skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail Experience in Invoice Processing, ensuring invoices are approved, coded, and paid promptly Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create spreadsheets, use formulas, and generate reports Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
