Republic Finance, LLC’s Employee Benefits Coordinator is a full-time, non-exempt position located in the corporate headquarters in Baton Rouge, LA. The Employee Benefits Coordinator is responsible for performing work related to the company’s employee benefits programs as well as overseeing the leave of absence process. The work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; however, additional hours may be required from time to time depending on the business’s needs. This position reports to the Human Resources Manager. Incumbent into this position will work under close supervision and will mostly be performing work following pre-defined policies or procedures. Job responsibilities are as follows: Administering both new hire benefits enrollments and annual employee benefits enrollments into various benefit plans. Responsible for distributing employee benefits information. Answers questions employees have about any benefits coverages or claims issues. Initiates disability claims with the appropriate benefits carrier. Reconciles benefits invoices with enrollment data to ensure coverages align and are accurate. Works closely with benefits broker to understand and review various benefits offerings. Responsible for becoming very familiar with the self-funded health plan mechanics and financial review. Administers leave of absence requests, communications and follow up. Created leave of absence reporting. Responsible for working through FMLA, ADA, USERRA and Worker’s Compensation leave situations collaboratively with HR and Operations, with a good understanding of the employer responsibilities under each. Administers 401(k) enrollments and coordinates with payroll regarding loan payments and deferrals. Assists with annual 401(k) audit. Responsible for benefits-related month end reports to accounting. Responsible for creating educational webinars describing the company’s benefit offerings. Initiates Worker’s Compensation claims. Continuously looks for ways to improve the department or make processes more efficient. Various projects as assigned. Requirements Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills. High attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communications skills. (We spend a lot of time on the phone or utilizing E-mail to communicate with geographically dispersed employees. They are not in our office to speak to face-to-face.) Resourcefulness Great organizational skills. Professional and customer-service focused demeanor a must.
