  • Summary Serves as Assistant General Manager (AGM) in the ATO; Air Traffic Services; Western Service Area, Seattle District Office, responsible for planning and directing multiple activities and programs in a complex matrix organization in a specific Air Traffic District assigned to the highest facility-level within the Seattle District. The AGM shares full managerial responsibility and authority, reporting to the General Manager (GM) and acts in the absence of the GM, as required. Responsibilities Applies extensive knowledge/experience in management of terminal/enroute air traffic facilities to integrate air traffic operations, support services and administrative programs to advance the tactical use of concepts and technologies to achieve the strategic goals of ATO and FAA. Ensures that all district operational and support plans are integrated w/the operational philosophy of the ATS directorate at all levels. Provides input and guidance on policies, standards, and procedures as regards to all district activities, to ensure the safe, secure and efficient use of airspace. Identifies information needs, training requirements, and ad hoc and recurring reporting requirements to include reporting to the GM. Applies experience in managing and directing air traffic operations and/or support activities to maintain close connectivity w/field facility operations and support activities throughout the District. Ensures GM and district staff are able to respond quickly to unexpected and emergency situations. Provides a timely, accurate, unfiltered flow of information up the management chain.
