About the Position: This position is located with the 407th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center, Transportation Division, Fort Leavenworth, KS. Responsibilities Perform onsite inspections to monitor shipping contractor\'s performance during packing of household goods. Process inbound/outbound inspection data utilizing automated systems such as Transportation Operations Property System (TOPS), Defense Personal Property System (DPS). Utilize automated systems to produce correspondence such as inspections reports, deficiency reports etc. Recommend corrective actions when contractor deficiencies such as improper packing and/or loading are encountered. It is a time limited position NTE 13 months and may be extended up to a maximum of 8 years. This position may be converted to a permanent, career or career-conditional appointment without further competition as long as all requirements are met. To be eligible for conversion, employee must complete at least 2 years of current continuous service under a term appointment in the competitive service AND employee must have a current performance rating under such term appointment of at least fully successful or equivalent. This position will be filled as a time-limited appointment. Army employees who accept time limited appointments (to include employees with personal competitive status) will be separated at the end of the time-limited appointment date if the Not-to-Exceed (NTE) date is not extended. There are no return/reemployment rights to the position vacated prior to accepting the time-limited appointment.
