Summary About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the Network Enterprise Center in Fort Johnson, La. Responsibilities Serve as senior systems administrator in support of the Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA) -Regional Network Enterprise Center (RNEC) and installations within the RNEC geographically Area of Responsibility (AOR). Monitors and performs the maintenance of server client and server log files, databases, and server-installed software. Manage the creation of user accounts and maintain configuration management control records and access of data storage. Respond to system failures caused by software and hardware deficiencies. Research and recommend technologies for virtual instances, SANs, backups, and mirroring. Administers RNEC data storage and backup/retrieval of all NIPRNET and SIPRNET user data on SANs.
