Title: MAINTENANCE WORKER Location: United States-Rhode Island-Newport Job Number: 240003X7 Job Summary: The purpose of this position at the entry level provides assistance to journey level workers in more than one of the skilled trade occupations by performing simple and routine tasks. Duties and Responsibilities: Assists in performing work in at least two of the following trades in the maintenance and repair of buildings and related fixtures. Maintains work order log and follow up as required. Reports status to supervisor. Logs trouble calls with contractor as appropriate. May be required to greet guests at time of arrival and offer assistance with luggage directions base services and local area information. - Plumbing Assists in making plumbing repairs to sinks faucets commodes tanks urinals P-traps shut-off valves on washing machines and water supply that can be accomplished by removing cleaning resealing replacing defective parts or units installing water heaters garbage disposals faucets and sinks. - Washer Dryer repair Assists in performing routine maintenance on washers and dryers to include cleaning lint ducts and vents replacing hoses and fittings as required and referring more complex problems to supervisor for action. - Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning HVAC Assists in identifying the cause of faulty equipment and assists in making repairs on a variety of HVAC units as appropriate. - Electrical Assists in recognizing and reporting electrical problems. Assists with repairs as appropriate. Replaces fluorescent and incandescent ballasts bulbs and tubes. - Carpentry Assists in basic carpentry repairs such as repairing or replacing screens window and door frames molding and trim repair and replacement of drywall or similar products. - Painting Assists in preparation of areas and standard coating methods such as brushing rolling and spraying and ensures surfaces are fully coated protected and free from drips and runs. - Must possess a welcoming manner and positive attitude demonstrate effective communication skills professionally interact with guests answering guest questions concerning hotel facilities and provide information about local attractions. Provide assistance in handling customer complaints involving management as necessary. - Performs recurring assignments e.g. follow up on maintenance requests reported by guests housekeeping or front desk. - Must possess basic math and reading skills - Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing in English. - Ability to carry out assigned work in accordance with instructions and specifications in assisting journeyman level workers. Ability to use and maintain the basic tools and equipment pertinent to the various occupations. Knowledge of the basic materials utilized in the performance of the various repair and maintenance activities in conjunction with the journeyman trades persons. - Regular recurring helper-type support work performed is accomplished with intermittent or minimal supervision while in progress with specific instructions being provided on new assignments along with closer supervisory reviews. - Complete all required safety security training. - Required to do considerable standing bending walking pushing pulling and climbing. Must have ability to perform moderately strenuous physical labor as unassisted lifting moving and carrying of supplies and equipment weighing up to 45 pounds 100 pounds assisted is required. Must be able to climb descend stairs and ladders stoop bend kneel and work in uncomfortable positions. - The work involves normal risks or discomforts associated with plant operations facility management and or mechanical systems. Work is performed both indoors and outdoors with potential exposure to extreme weather or temperature conditions. Occasional exposure to dusty or dirty conditions exists when visiting rooms or facilities undergoing repair maintenance or renovation. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE Three years of general maintenance work in involving variety of trade practices associated with such occupations as air conditioning and refrigeration electrical work plumbing carpentry masonry and painting etc. Including knowledge of safety and environmental rules and regulations concerning procedures tools mechanical and electrified equipment chemicals and basic safe work practices. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Standing stooping bending kneeling climbing and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts and carries material weighing up to 50 pounds. A recognized professional certification or license in one trade plumbing HVAC electrical carpentry or painting trade is preferred.

Summary The purpose of the Child and Youth Program (CYP) Cook position is to perform a variety of food preparation and food service tasks for the CYP. This position is located in a child Development Center (CDC) but may assist with food preparation for the School Age Care (SAC) Program. Responsibilities The CYP Cook performs various tasks or a sequence of tasks in food service preparation. Tasks consist of several steps that require attention to work operations and follow and established sequence of work. These tasks, which are summarized into categories related to food preparation and service, kitchen maintenance, and food storage, are summarized below. Food Preparation and Service Prepares all types of meats, poultry, seafood, vegetables, fruit sauces, and gravies for menus. Prepare, cook, season, and portion food for all meals by following standardized recipes at different levels of difficulty and plan, regulate, and schedule cooking procedures so that numerous completed food products are ready at the appropriate temperature ant time. They plan and prepare or coordinate the preparation of an entire meal. Prepare menu items using special or difficult recipes that require numerous interrelated steps, many ingredients, lengthy preparation time. They prepare a variety of menu items using several different and complex methods of preparation such as cool or chill. Designs, implements and maintains specialized and general office Monitor temperatures and steam pressures, evaluate the condition of food being cooked at frequent intervals, and turn and baste meat to add flavor and to prevent uneven cooking and drying out. Modify recipes for ingredient quantities, the number of servings, and the size of the equipment available.
