  • Job Title: Intake and Research Specialist Location: Butte, Montana Annual Pay Rate: 48,080 - 72,120 (depending on education and experience) In 1988 Montana Fair Housing, then known as Missoula Fair Housing Board, provided services only to Missoula and surrounding counties. Following the award of a federal grant in 1994, Missoula Fair Housing began serving all of Western Montana and became known as Western Montana Fair Housing. By the end of the two-year grant cycle, Western Montana Fair Housing was providing services across the state, changing our name again to Montana Fair Housing. Today Montana Fair Housing (MFH) serves housing providers and consumers throughout the state. We respond to inquiries, and provide information and support to consumers and industry representatives. Our mission is to promote and ensure non-discrimination in Montana through outreach, education, dispute resolution, and enforcement. Job Summary The Intake and Research Specialist will report to the Executive Director. With a high degree of confidentiality and critical thinking, will interact with the public in a courteous, professional and knowledgeable manner, conduct interviews to gather information, perform effective research and application of applicable legislation, and provide accurate information and assistance. Essential Job Functions Obtain information from interviews that enables effective analysis and consideration of legal principles and appropriate laws, guidances and regulations, as they apply to each circumstance. Perform research necessary for effective analysis and/or referral. Develops and maintains public relationships, providing effective analysis of the situation, providing effective guidance on issues, and assisting in the resolution of issues brought to MFH. Document, file and maintain electronic data and information for effective documentation and reporting of research and investigation results for current and future reference including, but not limited to, expenses and other file documentation. Required Qualifications: Required: High School Diploma, or equivalent. At least two (2) years? experience that includes significant interaction with the public, Critical thinking skills, Ability to communicate effectively, Ability to create, maintain and manage databases, Ability to accurately enter data, Must have reliable automobile, current automobile insurance, and valid Montana driver?s license (or obtain within 90 days of employment). Preferred: Bachelor?s degree in related field. Experience with non-profit organizations.
