We\'re seeking an individual with the right OEM training and qualifications to be our non-working shop foreman. The roll will require you to provide quality control on our repairs, assist technicians when they need help, and managing the workflow through our shop. The ideal candidate doesn\'t take shortcuts, and likes to get things done right the first time. OEM Training and certifications from Stellantis are a requirement. Summary This position is located in Flagstaff Area National Monuments, over the Resource, Stewardship & Science Division. Responsibilities The incumbent will directly supervise up to five people. Subordinates may include permanent, career seasonal, seasonal, temporary, and term appointment. Prepares and coordinates the efforts of others in the preparation of resource management plans and specific action plans pertaining to the management and protection of cultural and natural resources. Carries out program management duties by developing work plans and schedules, scopes of work, cost estimates, and proposals and/or grants to justify funding requests and accomplish goals. Maintains liaison with the State Historic Preservation Officer, and traditionally associated groups, and conducts or coordinates the review of park projects to assure protections of natural and cultural resources and compliance with applicable federal laws. Coordinates Park resource management programs with those on adjacent lands for the purposes of achieving broad protection strategies and preventing human impacts. Negotiates cooperative and interagency agreements and other cooperative instruments needed to effectively carry out resource stewardship goals. Identifies research needs, prepares requests for proposals or statements of work, and provides oversight. Represents the superintendent when working with others on resource stewardship issues. Degree: full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor\'s or higher degree that included 3 semester hours each in the following course areas: History of archeology; Archeology of a major geographical area such as North America or Africa; Regional archeology, archeological cultures, or sites in a specific part or portion of a major geographical area to acquire or develop a foundation for regional specialization for professional development; Theory and methods of archeology (methods include, but are not limited to, typology, classification, sampling, cultural evolution, diffusion, dating, and analytical techniques); Archeological field school, provided a basic understanding of theoretical and practical approaches to research design implementation, field preservation techniques, and report preparation by participation in actual field work; AND six semester hours of related course work in geography, geology, or cultural geography; history, historiography, or historical archeology; environmental studies; scientific writing (nonfiction English composition); and/or surveying; AND Archeological field school. 2. Degree: full 4-year course of study in related curriculum obtained at an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor\'s or higher degree in anthropology (with emphasis on ethnology, physical anthropology, or scientific linguistics); history; American studies, or a related discipline, provided the curriculum supplied academic course work sufficiently similar to the requirements stated above (including archeological field school). 3. Combination of education and experience: combination of education and experience that provided knowledge equivalent to that described in A above, plus appropriate additional education or technical experience to total 4 years. This combination must have demonstrated that you possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the work of an archeologist comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of a full 4-year course of study. 4. Experience: four year of archeological work experience that demonstrated a thorough knowledge of the fundamental principles and theories of professional archeology. The work experience must have included archeology field experience, which may include that gained in an archeological field school. Field experience should have included a combination of professional experience in archeological survey, excavation, laboratory analysis, and preparation of written materials. Applicants with such field experience should, after additional experience under the direction of a higher level archeologist be able to demonstrate the ability to be a crew chief, directing the work of others at a single location as a part of a larger archeological project. General Natural Resources Management and Biological Sciences Series 0401 (opm.gov) Applicants must have one of the following and submit documentation in their application on how they meet this requirement: 1. Degree: biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position. Or 2. Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. Examples of specialized experience may include but is not limited to: supervising or Managing a natural and cultural resource program; developing or refining solutions for habitat and public use management plans, identifying future data needs and planning projects for natural and cultural resources; integrating natural and cultural resource analysis, managing sensitive and complex issues, and natural and cultural resource compliance. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
