Summary This position is located in Golf at the Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Department of Naval Base San Diego; Admiral Baker Golf Course. The primary purpose of this position is to sell golf equipment and supplies and collect Green and Golf Cart fees from patrons. Responsibilities Sells all types of golf equipment and ladies and men\'s apparel. Using Point of Sale (POS) systems, accepts payment for sales, green fees, golf cart fees and equipment rentals. Responsible for a change fund. Completes daily activity reports and ensures proper deposit of cash receipts in accordance with established cash handling procedures. Takes reservations for Tee Times. Checks identification of all patrons, insuring only authorized persons utilize the facility. Assists, advises and provides information. Answers questions and attempts to resolve problems. Refers unusual situations to supervisor. Enforces all rules and regulations and sees that the dress code is adhered to by all patrons who enter the golf shop prior to playing. Ensures proper display, pricing and sale of a wide assortment of golf accessories such as golf clubs, bags, shoes, and miscellaneous golf aids. Assists and advises patrons on purchase of merchandise to ensure satisfaction. Refers dissatisfied patrons to supervisor. Assists in the planning and running of golf tournaments and other special golfing events. May be required to act as tee starter, when required. Makes minor operational repairs to customer golf equipment, as needed. Informs supervisor of equipment repair and/or replacement needed. Responsible for cash receipts, sales receipts, charge card receipts, gift certificates, refund receipts, special orders, and daily players sign out sheets. Responsible for the accountability of all merchandise in the Golf Pro Shop. Conducts periodic inventories as required. Advises supervisor of any and all discrepancies found. Performs general housekeeping tasks to ensure proper standard of appearance and cleanliness of assigned spaces. Ensures compliance with fire and safety rules and regulations. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Combination of experience related to customer service and or recreation activity-based functions. Ability to organize, plan, administer special events and entertainment activities. Must be able to work independently, make sound decisions and have the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Knowledge of the goals, principles, techniques and procedures used in organizing, planning and conducting leisure time activities. Knowledge of the Navy MWR mission and the entire scope of Community Recreation activities and their suitability for individuals, groups, ages and interests. Knowledge of the functions, procedures, and operations of recreation activities. Must have strong customer service skills. Ability to maintain records, compile and organize data for reports, and perform research on recreation topics for dissemination to customers. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Knowledge of computers, office procedures and print production. Education A high school diploma or GED is preferred. The primary purpose of this position is to ensure, through working and supervising construction and maintenance personnel in the safe and efficient construction and repair of recreational and athletic facilities. Responsibilities Assists in the design and supervises the construction of various projects. Performs work related to the operation, minor construction, repair and maintenance of facilities and property. As a working supervisor, assists and directs the activities of subordinate construction crew engaged in performing a variety of craft s and trades related to general construction and repair of various recreational and athletic facilities. Duties consist of, but are not limited to, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and electrical repair. Establishes work schedules. Determines work priorities, checks work in progress and when finished, for compliance with sequence, procedures, methods and deadlines. Answers worker\'s questions regarding procedures, policies, written instructions and directives. Keeps supervisor informed on status and progress of work, causes of delays, overall work operations, and problems that require corrective action. Responsible for submitting appropriate paperwork and/or purchase orders for supplies, parts, materials, and equipment for authorized projects. Ensures accurate receipt of items.
