  • Summary This position is located within the Agricultural Research Service (ARS), at the US Meat Animal Research Center, Plains Area (PA), in Clay Center, NE. In this position, you will provide leadership in the management of business functions in support of research programs at the location. You will work closely with the location\'s management team to efficiently and effectively carry out all administrative operations. Responsibilities Advises management officials on the regulatory requirements for the development and control of all extramural agreements. Evaluates and modifies existing Location methods, procedures, policies, and reporting requirements. Conducts administrative review of agreement statements of work and budgets, and approves all actions prior to submission to the Area Office. Manages and coordinates the occupational safety and health programs. GS-12 Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is experience directly related to the position to be filled. Specialized experience must be described for each grade level advertised. The specialized experience requirements for this position are: Qualifying experience for GS-12 includes one year of specialized experience comparable to GS-11 which is directly related to the work of this position and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. For this position, specialized experience is experience preparing financial or budgetary reports; reviewing requests for personnel actions; planning and coordinating business management activities for an organization; and formulating or implementing administrative policies, procedures, or methods. GS-13 Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is experience directly related to the position to be filled. Specialized experience must be described for each grade level advertised. The specialized experience requirements for this position are: Qualifying experience for GS-13 includes one year of specialized experience comparable to GS-12 which is directly related to the work of this position and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. For this position, specialized experience is experience advising management on the status of funds, expenses, and obligations; reviewing requests for personnel actions; overseeing the administration of new employee orientation program; and formulating or implementing administrative policies, procedures, or methods. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Education This position does not have an education qualification requirement.
