The RN will assess patient condition, notify providers of patient acuity, carry out provider orders, administer prescribed medications, perform prescribed treatments/procedures, transfer patient when necessary, and discharge patients with appropriate instructions according to Hospital policy; Compliance: The RN will meet the NYS DOH regulations, standards of nursing practice, AOA, OSHA, and other relevant standards. The RN will interpret, implement, and be in compliance with all established procedures/regulations including COBRA, patient rights, DNV, and HIPPA. Documentation will be accurate and timely to meet required clinical standards and support financial accountability. The RN is responsible for obtaining consents/releases related to patient care according to hospital policy and procedures. Recognizes legal responsibilities and functions within the RN scope of practice;Safety: Maintain a clean and hazard free environment while performing safe techniques. Utilize the chain of command accordingly to report concerns regarding safety, staffing, patients, quality, and potential emergent situations. Apply emergency protocols as necessary; Quality: Participates in unit based, quality improvement initiatives.
