The Medical Technologist is responsible for collecting, preparing and analyzing specimens, and reporting this information in a prompt manner to the physician for the diagnosis and treatment of their patients. A complete list of procedures performed is located in the competency assessment. Techs are expected to work independently, without direct supervision. If direct supervision is required to perform any testing or result reporting, this will also be documented on the competency. Section Supervisors/Assistant Section Supervisors are responsible for direct observations of competency testing.
