About the Surrounding Area: Situated in Northern Virginia on the south bank of the Potomac River directly across from Washington D.C. Arlington is headquarters to many departments and agencies of the federal government, including the Department of Defense and is the location of many national memorials and museums Responsibilities Develop, implement, and administer policy or operational programs. Provide technical advice and assistance in the military personnel management program for active components and active guard reserve components. Make recommendations on major changes in organizational structure to achieve the best possible mix of reducing operating costs and assuring program effectiveness.
