Summary About the Position: The pay band NH-04 includes the General Schedule grade equivalent to GS-14/15. Other initiatives under the Acquisition Demonstration Project include simplified classification, streamlined hiring process and expanded developmental opportunities Responsibilities Serves as a Supervisory Deputy Project Manager (DPM) and responsible management official providing overall direction and guidance for the development, acquisition, testing, product improvements, fielding, and sustainment of assigned programs. Coordinate, integrate, lead, and directly control the efforts associated with assigned program. Utilize a high degree of managerial and technical knowledge as well as a thorough knowledge of functional activities and the defense acquisition process required for effective management of assigned programs. Oversees POM planning, cost estimating, program planning, programming, budgeting, program integration, interoperability, and oversight. Serves as advisor to officials with broader and higher responsibilities on status of project, progress made, projected plans, and problems. Responsible for all aspects of acquisition to include development, testing, system integration, production, fielding, sustainment, and product improvements with a multi-million-dollar annual budget. Specialized experience: To qualify, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level (NH-03). Specialized experience is defined as: (1) Overseeing a major defense acquisition program throughout the weapon system life cycle; (2) Managing project or program resources to ensure performance objectives are met; (3) Identifying benchmarks and milestones to successfully meet the program objectives; (4) Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the accomplishment of program objectives. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-03/GS-13).
