Overview
General Description: The QA/QC Inspector plans and conducts activities concerned with the quality assurance of industrial processes, materials, and products by performing the following duties. The QA/QC Inspector will represent ACCO and its subcontractors for pipe and equipment installation, welding inspection and oversight of subcontractor installation and quality. The QA/QC Inspector will participate in the General Contractors project quality program documenting installation activities. Supervises: None Essential Duties & Responsibilities Plans and conducts the analysis, inspection, design, test, and/or integration to assure the quality of assigned product or component. Performs quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including vendor quality manuals and company quality records. Reviews all purchased products or components and provides input to the decision of whether the product has been vetted by ACCO for future purchases from the vendor. Documents data obtained during all quality assurance activities, consistent with company policies, codes and procedures. Communicates significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and provides recommended process improvements to management. Prepares reports to communicate involvement and results of quality assurance activities. Maintains a working knowledge of codes and specifications for current industry quality standards. The quality team may assign other duties. Secondary Duties / Responsibilities: Develops new approaches to solve problems identified during quality assurance activities. Prepares and presents technical information and reports to team members and management. Directs technical and administrative workers engaged in quality assurance activities. Other duties as assigned by the Site QC Supervisor or QA/QC Director in conjunction with the project team. Position Requirements (Skills, Work Experience, Education, Certifications, Licenses, etc.): To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Seeking at least 5 years of experience in Quality Control with a minimum of 3 years focused on ASME B31 piping codes, industrial and commercial construction, fabrication, welding, non-destructive testing, and/or other similar fields. Current certification in accordance with AWS QC-1 as a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) and /or ICC Mechanical - Commercial Certification preferred. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Regular & routine attendance. General Description: The Site Safety Manager ensures that the Company complies with all applicable federal, state, and local Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) regulations. Under the direction of the Safety Director, this position is responsible for assisting with the development, implementation, and auditing of safety policies across a wide spectrum of levels. This individual will directly interact with field employees, Company Management, and customers. The Safety Manager will provide oversight management of all service HSE activities in their area, provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to all Site Safety personnel, provide all levels of the area management team with the services and technical advice needed, for the proper administration of the Company\'s HSE and Injury/Illness Prevention Programs. This includes supporting the company\'s established network for the communication of HSE matters, managing HSE programs at jobsites, supporting other Site Safety Managers, and developing and maintaining a strong HSE culture within the area. Supervises: N/A Essential Duties & Responsibilities Assist the Safety Director with oversight and implementation of company safety processes on the jobsite Respond, oversee and facilitate appropriate injury management and incident investigation/ communication throughout for the jobsite Assist with Managing ACCO\'s safety programs through development, implementation, and management of the Company\'s safety policies Ensure ACCO\'s compliance with federal, state and local safety laws Provide oversight management for service HSE activities Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to field personnel, and provide all levels of the construction management team with the services and technical advice needed for the proper administration of the Company\'s HSE and Injury/Illness Prevention Programs Collaborate with other managers in the division in developing and maintaining a strong safety culture within the service department while ensuring that the Company complies with all applicable federal, state, and local HSE regulations Work with the customer and site general contractor to ensure ACCO is in compliance with their standards and procedures Provide safety training as needed at a site level Position Requirements (Skills, Work Experience, Education, Certifications, Licenses, etc.): Ensure a safe and healthy working environment for employees, customers and the public Act as the technical safety advisor to Company management and supervision and ensure that ACCO personnel comply with all relevant current labor laws and regulations as well as with new regulations affecting the industry and/or operations Perform frequent safety inspections and audits at the job site Perform frequent job walks and job/ site hazard analysis with supervision and sales staff as necessary for pro-active safety planning and decision-making purposes Perform incident investigations, reports, and help to develop corrective actions as necessary.
