Determines treatment strategies and delivers direct care to promote healing of complex conditions and injuries of the shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand to maximize mobility, and remediate and rehabilitate acute or prolonged physical dysfunction or pain. Assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation planning for hand and upper extremity patient population including but not limited to post-surgical patients, tendon injuries, and fractures. Responsibilities: Upon referral, performs thorough examination and evaluation of surgical and non-surgical patient’s level of upper extremity function. Performs evaluations for upper extremity strength, motor control, joint mobility, soft tissue integrity, pain, and functional abilities of daily living Deliver therapeutic techniques that are appropriate to patient’s needs and medical status. Implement, deliver and delegate patient care by utilizing appropriate interventions and clinical decision making. Therapeutic techniques include but are not limited to: exercises, pain management, wound care, swelling, and orthotics.
