    Summary About the Position: Serves as a Liaison Officer for the Joint Activities Command at Schofield Barracks, Honolulu, Hawaii. Responsibilities Coordinates with interagency working groups, National agencies, DOD agencies, U.S. intelligence agencies, and other commands. Develops, coordinates, and implements matters of special operations plans, policy, exercises, and strategy as they relate to Special Operations in the Area of Responsibility (AOR). Reviews and analyzes OPLANS and CONPLANS for suitability, feasibility, acceptability, technical accuracy, adequacy, and integration of special mission operations content. Conducts liaison with Theater Commands, inter-agencies and USSOCOM to meet command plans, policy, and exercise objectives; to formulate, monitor budget and resource execution objectives; to inform Commanders; and to enhance interoperability. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Assisting with the coordination and implementation of sensitive activities operation plans with interagency working groups as they pertain to Command plans and policies; 2) Analyzing sensitive operation plans (OPLANS) and/or contingency plans (CONPLANS) for missions; 3) Formulating strategy and future concepts for sensitive activities within the Special Operations Community. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS 12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone, no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Communications Program Management Research and Data Analysis Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
