Responsibilities The duties may include, but are not limited to: Follows established policies, procedures and guidelines for issues related to environmental protection, safety, biosafety, and occupational health. Supports and participates in the execution of the quality management system. Uses a computerized system for the purpose of inventory tracking and control, and for closely monitoring all movement of materials. Inspects, receives, sorts, ships, counts, identifies, and is knowledgeable of special handling techniques and procedures required for the processing of hazardous and toxic materials. Examines and identifies the most complex and difficult items received by the site. Receives stock from a variety of sources such as local vendors, depot shipments, United Parcel Post (UPS), United States Postal Service (USPS), Federal Express (FedEx), motor freight, and material returns. Adheres to warehousing plan and accepted warehousing methods, procedures and techniques to select proper storage location to store, stock, and palletize items. Uses automated systems to perform the entire receiving process and to enter, change, delete, or prepare numerous discrepancy reports.
