  • 3D Systems, a leading global provider of 3D printing solutions, is seeking a Cost Accounting Principal to support the global Cost Accounting team. This individual will report to the Global director of cost of sales. The Cost Accounting Principal is responsible for the day-to-day cost accounting and monthly close activities associated with the Company’s global inventory and associated costs. The ideal candidate will demonstrate intellectual curiosity, logical thinking and have a mind for numbers. Primary Job Functions - Responsible for day-to-day cost accounting and monthly close activities associated with the Company’s inventory and associated costing, helping to ensure the Company’s financial statements and resulting supporting schedules are captured timely, completely, and accurately in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. Duties include: - - Preparation and/or review of journal entries of varying complexity, account reconciliations, and accounting schedules such as rollforwards, fluctuations and other similar analyses. - Ensuring the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, translating, consolidating, and entering transactions. Ensuring intercompany movements between legal jurisdictions (i.e., countries) are appropriate and necessary eliminations exist in consolidation. - Maintaining and balancing subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies. - Analyzing cost of goods sold, production results and associated variances, effectuating adjustments to rates and/or processes as necessary to achieve appropriate reporting. - Preparation of certain management reporting to drive operational decision-making. - Assist in the setting of and analysis of labor, overhead, and other applicable rates. - Overseeing inventory reserve determination and recording for slow-moving, obsolete, and/or specifically identified inventory. - Responsible for primary ownership and maintenance of the inventory master file. - Responsible for leading standard cost update processes, both cyclical and annual. - Responsible for coordinating and monitoring physical counts, both cyclical and annual. - Responsible for supporting business partners through ad hoc information requests and knowledge sharing. - Responsible for maintaining a complete and effective internal control environment. - Responsible for driving process efficiency and improvements. - Contribute to more complex accounting projects and initiatives alongside other members of the accounting, finance, and/or business operations teams.
