Entry level position for a Television Board Operator/Switcher to work full-time hours on a temporary basis. Job could last up to 6 months. Requirements include: ability to alternate between day and night shifts; timing skills; good hand to eye coordination; and dependability. Employer will train. Duties include: monitor broadcast transmitters; maintain program and transmitter logs; switch commercials into network programming. $15.00 per hour to start.
QUALIFICATIONS: BA/BS Degree or prior experience (human services) as an administrator or supervisor. Ability to work with the public, be well organized, have the ability to quantify and report information have a pleasant demeanor is a must. Knowledge of community elderly programs and needs a plus. RESPONSIBLE TO: 1) Smelter City Senior Citizens Board of Directors. 2) All employees are subject to Policy decisions set forth by the Smelter City Board of Directors. SPECIFIC DUTIES: 1) Act as the representative of the Smelter City Seniors Board and Metcalf Center, in all matters affecting and fixing the rights, obligations, and responsibilities of the agency. 2) Be responsible for the day to day operation, and responsibilities of the Agency including: a. Supervision of all employees and volunteers. b. Organizing and overseeing activities. c. Managing vendor activities, building maintenance, etc. d. Be computer efficient. e. Have experience in grant writing. 3) Manage Agency programs such as Congregate Meals, Home Delivered Meals, Transportation, Homemaker and the Commodity Supplemental Food Program. 4) Be responsible for the accounting and budgeting of Agency funds. 5) Be responsible for the performance of all written contracts and obligations of the Agency. 6) May prescribe rules and regulations for the conduct and operation of the Agency. 7) May appoint committees of employees and/or contractors for considering and resolving problems. 8) Be charged with administering senior services outlined under the Older American Act as well as any other senior services requested or mandated by the Area V Agency on Aging, State Aging Services Division and /or the Federal Administration on Aging. 9) Work to expand Agency services to address local needs (activities) etc. when possible given available resources. 10) Attend local meetings within the area when needed and be active on local boards or committees when possible.
