We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer with a proven track record of working with Windows Servers, AWS cloud infrastructure, and Cisco networking products. The ideal candidate will have at least 6 years of hands-on experience and must reside in the New Jersey area. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our IT infrastructure, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security of our systems. Responsibilities include the following: This is not an exhaustive task list, and other duties may be assigned as deemed appropriate or warranted by immediate manager. Manage, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and group policies. Architect, deploy, and manage infrastructure on AWS (EC2, S3, VPC, RDS, etc.) to ensure scalability and performance. Collaborate with development teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of applications in the cloud. Configure and manage Cisco networking products (switches, routers, firewalls) for secure and optimized network performance. Develop and implement best practices for system security, backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning. Monitor system performance, network health, and resolve operational issues promptly. Create and maintain documentation for infrastructure configurations, processes, and procedures. Stay current with new technologies and innovations in cloud computing and networking to recommend upgrades or enhancements to existing systems. Participate in on-call rotations and after-hours maintenance when necessary. Job Qualifications Necessary: Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. Experience: 6+ years of experience in systems engineering, with hands-on experience in Windows Servers, AWS, and Cisco technologies. Proficiency in managing and troubleshooting Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 environments. Extensive experience with AWS services (EC2, VPC, RDS, S3, CloudFormation, etc.), and at least one AWS certification (excluding Cloud Practitioner). Expertise in Cisco networking technologies (routing, switching, VPNs, firewalls). Solid understanding of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and load balancing. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with security protocols and best practices for network and cloud infrastructures. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with automation tools such as PowerShell, Python, or AWS CDK. Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines. Familiarity with Linux servers and cross-platform environments. Certifications: AWS Certification (e.g., Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator, Developer) is required.
