The Town of Southampton is seeking a qualified Maintenance Mechanic III skilled in plumbing to join our Municipal Works department-Buildings and Ground division. Duties include, but are not limited to: Performs skilled plumbing work in the maintenance and repair of Town buildings; Prepares job estimates for plumbing repair or installation projects; May assist with carpentry and other projects; Operates specialized tools used in the construction and repair of Town buildings; In addition, performs sub craftsman level work in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical problems and performing repairs on equipment; Maintenance on all equipment including small lawn mowers, tractors,chainsaws blowers as well as other related equipment; Diagnoses and trouble shoots mechanical and electrical problems and performs repairs on equipment; Proficient at operating all equipment and performs periodic function checks; May perform outside maintenance tasks such as snow removal and minor grounds maintenance; Stocks and maintains inventory of all required repair supplies; Performs other related duties as required. Annual salary - $67,742 plus full benefits package CIVIL SERVICE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Either: (a) Completion of two (2) years of vocational education courses in a vocational school program or in an apprentice or training program in one of the craft areas, and two (2) years of experience in the craft or specialty to which the incumbent will be assigned; or, (b) Four (4) years of experience in the craft or specialty to which the incumbent will be assigned; or, (c) An equivalent combination of the above education, or training, and experience as defined by the limits of (a) and (b); or, (d) One (1) year of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic II.
