Job Summary:
At Houston Methodist, the Dosimetrist position is responsible for creating and documenting radiation treatment plans, determine treatment dimensions, and promoting the implementation of the treatment plans for radiation therapy patients. This position participates in the simulation, dose computations, treatment plans, immobilization and other aspects of treatment planning for patients receiving external beam radiation therapy. The Dosimetrist position has knowledge of the physical and geometric characteristics of the radiation delivery equipment and human anatomy as they relate to radiation therapy anatomy contouring.
At Houston Methodist, the Patient Care Assistant (PCA) position is responsible for functioning as novice to competent and demonstrates basic knowledge and skills necessary to communicate appropriately and carry out delegated nursing assistant level tasks for assigned age-specific, diverse patient population, assisting in the delivery of patient care and services under the supervision of a licensed nurse. This position conducts hourly rounding to ensure patient needs are met and records data established by policy and procedure, and reports observations and patient problems to the licensed nurse. The PCA position performs basic patient care activities of daily living (ADL\'s) within unit-specific defined limits and job scope, such as assistance with patient elimination, hygiene, comfort, safety, nutrition, and progress activity and practices Patient and Family Centered Care in concert with Houston Methodist ICARE values.
At Houston Methodist, the Registered Nurse (RN) PRN position is a licensed staff nurse, an experienced clinician, functions at the Competent to Proficient stage of Benner\'s model of clinical practice. The RN PRN position provides professional nursing care to a diverse patient population, conducts nursing assessments, assists with exams and treatment, patient education, and maintenance of medical records.The RN PRN position provides direct patient care effectively and efficiently which may include patients with varied and complex needs. This position communicates and collaborates with the physicians and interprofessional health care team to facilitate, coordinate and maintain compassionate, efficient, quality care and achievement of desired treatment outcomes. The RN PRN position demonstrates clinical competence when providing care, using technology, administering medications, performing procedures and managing emergencies, acting as a patient and family advocate in order to monitor and maintain patient rights. This position assumes leadership roles with progressive responsibility including but not limited to participating in or leading unit and shared governance initiatives, serving as charge nurse or preceptor to students or new employees, and possibly contributing to service line or hospital-wide initiatives in partnership with management.
At Houston Methodist, the Environmental Services (EVS) Representative position maintains environmental and infection control standards within established policies and procedures. This position performs a variety of general cleaning tasks in assigned areas to provide a safe and attractive environment for patients, guests, and staff in accordance with department standards.
At Houston Methodist (HM), the Sr Cook position is responsible for the preparation and cooking of entrees, side dishes and other specialty products using the recipe collection provided. In addition to performing the duties of the Cook position, this position prepares specialty dishes for catered events including physician dinners, employee recognition ceremonies, and other high profile events. The Sr Cook position must maintain adequate production to support the needs of the patients, café, catering functions, and doctor\'s lounge. This position adheres with the HM Food and Nutrition Services Standards of Appearance and complies with relevant local Food Ordinances, reviewing and maintaining production records and cooling charts according to the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines. The Sr Cook position may be asked to assist in other food and nutition service areas, as needed.
At Houston Methodist, the Supply Chain Technician position is responsible for performing the physical, inventory-related tasks in Supply Chain Management, including but not limited to storage, distribution, and replenishment of supplies and equipment used throughout the hospital campus or central distribution center to promote a clinically-integrated Supply Chain. This position will perform tasks such as the delivery of supply and equipment orders, stocking of supplies, rotation of supplies, checking of expiration dates, removal of excess inventory and cleaning of clinical equipment. The Supply Chain Technician position performs basic storage, replenishing and dispensing of supplies in accordance with department and hospital procedures to provide support to clinical and ancillary areas.
At Houston Methodist, the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)/Paramedic position is responsible for assisting in the delivery of patient care and services to diverse patient population and their families and performing EKGs and collecting lab specimens under direction of the licensed nurse and/or provider. This position performs patient care activities of daily living (ADL\'s) within unit specific defined limits and job scope. The EMT/Paramedic position demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to communicate appropriately and carry out delegated tasks, conducting hourly rounding to ensure patient needs are met and records data established by policy and procedure, reporting observations and patient problems to the licensed nurse and/or provider. This position practices Patient and Family Centered Care in concert with Houston Methodist Experience standards.
At Houston Methodist, the System Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) Quality Reviewer position is responsible for performing internal quality assurance reviews on Clinical Documentation Specialist (CDS) staff to ensure compliance with national guidelines and policies for complete, accurate and consistent reporting which results in appropriate reimbursement and data integrity. This position reviews outcomes that are communicated to the team to improve the accuracy, integrity and quality of patient data, to ensure minimal variation in practices and to improve the quality of physician documentation within the body of the medical record to support code assignments and communicates outcomes to the CDS team to provide specific education, based on the quality monitoring review findings and trends. This position promotes a partnership between the concurrent clinical reviewers, medical record coders, and physicians to improve documentation and reimbursement.
