Summary About the Position: This position is located in San Antonio, Texas, with the Defense Health Agency. Responsibilities Provides technical support, advice, and guidance for the preparation of information system plans, systems design plans, test plans, SOWs (Statements of Work), and specifications for major DHA and DoD information systems. Evaluates the potential for technological breakthroughs in developing approaches and influencing research and development activities toward the ultimate goals of the programs and projects being undertaken. Reviews, identifies, develops and documents technical information security requirements across a wide spectrum of proponents. Incorporates the latest information assurance technological and procedural advances into the program or influences the incorporation. Develops, validates, and submits detailed Program Objective Budget (POM) and year of execution budgets. Guides and directs systems security analysis, vulnerability management and assessments, risk assessments, security surveys, independent certification testing, security test and evaluation, and verifies the accuracy and completeness of the reports. Maintains liaison with other federal agencies and industries to keep abreast of latest technology, available equipment and technology, and systems security capabilities to meet information security requirements. Serves as the lead engineer for the organization. Provides advice on work methods, practices and procedures, and assists the team and/or individual members in identifying the parameters of a viable solution.
