At Houston Methodist, the Physician Assistant (PA) functions as an advanced practice practitioner, responsible for maintaining and promoting the health of the patient requiring care, practicing medicine under the supervision of a licensed physician. This position will provide diagnostic, therapeutic, surgical and preventative care, under the supervision of a physician. The PA position exams, diagnoses and decides treatment for patients, including analyzing and interpreting x-rays and lab results, writes prescriptions, takes patients\' histories, provides surgical assistance, and orders various forms of therapy. This position may work in both inpatient and outpatient situations and can perform independently under the license of a physician or as part of a treatment team. The PA position affects direct patient care according to the Board of Physician Assistant Examiners in the State of Texas and Houston Methodist policies and procedures.
At Houston Methodist, the Vascular Sonographer II position is an experienced sonographer who completes a variety of routine to advanced non-invasive vascular sonograms to include, where applicable, transcranial Doppler (TCD). A member of the direct patient care team, this position is fully competent in all aspects of ultrasound exams, vascular pathology and physiology and serves as a mentor to Technologist I\'s and students by utilizing skills and knowledge to help train and educate others. The Vascular Sonographer II position works independently exercising sound judgment and executing above average clinical skills on challenging diagnostic procedures and patient care situations. This position provides direct assistance to physicians with all diagnostic/special procedures and delivers exceptional patient care and adheres to sonography standards and guidelines established by radiology agencies to ensure optimal patient safety and customer service. This position requires availability to be on call.

The PCA/UAA position demonstrates basic knowledge and skills necessary to communicate appropriately and carry out delegated nursing assistant level tasks for assigned patient populations, assisting in the delivery of patient care and services under the supervision of a licensed nurse. This position performs basic patient care activities of daily living (ADL\'s) within unit-specific defined limits and job scope, such as assistance with patient elimination, hygiene, comfort, safety, nutrition, and progress activity and maintains competency requirements for computer medical terminology and other job-related functions, while practicing Patient and Family Centered Care in concert with Houston Methodist ICARE values: Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Excellence. The PCA/UAA position assists with calls to physicians and their office, bed management, transfer services or other floors, coordinating with Operations Administrator as needed, answering incoming telephone calls for the unit and transfers as appropriate.

At Houston Methodist, the Environmental Services (EVS) Technician position performs a variety of general as well as moderately complex cleaning tasks in assigned specialty areas to provide a safe and attractive environment for patients, guests, and staff. This position maintains environmental and infection control standards within established policies and procedures. In addition, the Environmental Services Technician position follows Association of Operating Room Nurses (AORN) standards for turnover and terminal cleaning of procedure rooms. This position works with floor maintenance equipment and chemicals as well as handling and interaction with hazardous materials for appropriate disposal, conference room set ups and linen distribution, collection and tracking, as appropriate.
At Houston Methodist, the Sterile Processing Technician position is responsible for decontamination, assembly, inspecting, wrapping, and sterilization of surgical instruments and medical equipment for Surgical Services and all ancillary departments which includes working in conjunction with the Operation Room (OR) staff to provide timely sterile products, trays, and case carts where applicable.
