At Houston Methodist, the Senior Patient Access Associate position is responsible for obtaining and entering accurate demographic and insurance information in the electronic health record (EHR) on patients presenting at the various entry points of the facility. This position performs cashiering functions, ensuring that all hospital accounts are secure, through the collection of the required co-pay, deductibles and co-insurance. This position also performs the medical necessity check, to ensure compliance with Medicare guidelines, and regularly works in multiple areas (e.g., emergency department registration, main registration, bed management, cashier, etc.) and/or EHR work queues specific to patient access. The Senior Patient Access Associate employs effective communication skills, promoting excellent customer service in every interaction, and serves as a resource, trainer and mentor to other team members. This position is also required to adhere to all departments, hospital, governmental and/or any other healthcare licensing agency requirements related to the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA) and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

At Houston Methodist, the Physical Therapist I (PT) position is responsible for assessing patients and developing the therapy plan of care. This position provides education to patients, patient\'s family members, and/or caregivers and collaborates with other health care professionals as needed for problem resolution and/or achievement of identified patient specific goals. As a member of the patient care team, the PT I position provides direct patient care and has responsibility to deliver exceptional patient care with adherence to safety standards and guidelines to ensure optimal patient safety, customer service, and optimum patient outcomes.
At Houston Methodist, the Endoscopy Technician I (Endo Tech) position, under the direction of a Registered Nurse and/or physician, provides support to the gastroenterology (GI) providers and other members of the healthcare team and is directly involved in patient care before, during and after procedures. This position assists with gastroenterology (GI) endoscopy procedures related to preparation for and assisting with room turnaround activities for procedures, which include cleaning and processing of endoscopes and accessory equipment. The Endo Tech I position is familiar with all endoscopy supplies and other related equipment ensuring that items are ready, available and in good working conditions at all times. Other duties for this position will include department upkeep, as delegated by licensed personnel.
