Respiratory Care Practitioner - Respiratory Therapy WA SHMC Spokane Main Tower 10th Floor Shift Details: Full-time, Night shift, 36 hours a week The Department-based Respiratory Therapist is expected to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of contemporary Respiratory Therapy principles. He/She will collaborate with Physicians and Nurses in planning and implementing the patient plan of care. Completion of the department orientation program as well as unit-specific orientation, as required, is mandatory. This individual assists the Physician with the delivery and direction of Respiratory Therapy. She/He may be qualified by training and experience to operate and maintain complex ventilatory support systems, monitoring and resuscitation devices, respiratory care procedures and patient assessments, diagnostic procedures and oxygen therapy. Activities may also include other patient care functions for which he or she is qualified. Individualizes Respiratory care for Neonates (birth to 1 month), Infants (1 month to age 1), Toddlers (1-2 years), Preschoolers( 3-5 years), School Age Children (6-12 years), Adolescents (13-17 years), the Early Adult (18-35), Middles Adult (36-65), and Older Adult (66+) by applying age related concepts including knowledge of growth and development, safety needs, collection and interpretation of data, administering medications, performing diagnostic or other treatments/procedures and evaluation of care. These services will be in support of the United States (U.S.) Department of Labor, Office of Workers\' Compensation (OWCP) and the Division of Federal Employees\' Compensation (DFEC). The nurses will be expected to perform services to injured workers in person and telephonically in Spokane and surrounding areas. Position Details: Provide nursing services to injured Federal workers who has immediate time loss and has not returned to work within a specified number of days. Will manage a case typically from 3 to 6 months Following up with the physician\'s office and employee\'s supervisor to coordinate light duty, job accommodations and return to work date. Enter necessary and any relevant information regarding each case into the OWCP/DFEC case management system. Other duties as assigned Competitive Compensation, with an estimated annual income of $50,000 - $100,000 depending on the caseload you would like to carry. ($50K is based on a twenty hour work week. Employees in this role can take on as many or as few cases as they desire.) Position Requirements: Active state or compact RN license to work in the assigned areas A minimum of two (2) years adult medical/surgical nursing experience and a minimum of two (2) years case management experience in the workers\' compensation arena. OR A minimum of one (1) year of adult medical/surgical nursing experience AND Three (3) years of Case Management experience in the workers\' compensation arena Ability to handle confidential patient information.
