Overview
At Houston Methodist, the Senior Patient Access Associate position is responsible for obtaining and entering accurate demographic and insurance information in the electronic health record (EHR) on patients presenting at the various entry points of the facility. This position performs cashiering functions, ensuring that all hospital accounts are secure, through the collection of the required co-pay, deductibles and co-insurance. This position also performs the medical necessity check, to ensure compliance with Medicare guidelines, and regularly works in multiple areas (e.g., emergency department registration, main registration, bed management, cashier, etc.) and/or EHR work queues specific to patient access. The Senior Patient Access Associate employs effective communication skills, promoting excellent customer service in every interaction, and serves as a resource, trainer and mentor to other team members. This position is also required to adhere to all departments, hospital, governmental and/or any other healthcare licensing agency requirements related to the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA) and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
At Houston Methodist, the Registered Nurse (RN) III position a licensed staff nurse, who as an advanced clinician, functions at the Proficient level according to Benner\'s model of clinical practice. The RN III position provides professional direct patient nursing care to a diverse patient population and is considered an expert in a specialty. Besides conducting nursing assessments, assisting with exams and treatment and maintenance of medical records, this position assists in coaching and mentoring department staff in areas of clinical and professional practice. Role modeling compassionate communication with physicians and the interprofessional health care team, the RN III position assumes leadership responsibilities with high level contributions at the bedside, unit, service line, and across the institution. Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to leading unit and shared governance activities, serving as charge nurse as needed, assessing unit needs related to practice and improvement opportunities, serving as a clinical resource for both unit and hospital staff and coordinating unit and hospital-wide education in partnership with management.
At Houston Methodist, the MRI Technologist II position is responsible for a variety of routine to complex diagnostic MRI procedures to include common and special MRI exams of high difficulty. This position is a member of the direct patient care team and is fully competent in all aspects of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) exams. The MRI Technologist II position serves as a mentor to MRI Technologist I and students by utilizing skills and knowledge to help train and educate others. This position works independently by exercising sound judgment and executing above average clinical skills on challenging diagnostic procedures and patient care situations. The MRI Technologist II position provides direct assistance to physicians with all diagnostic and special MRI procedures. This position delivers exceptional patient care and adheres to MRI exam standards and guidelines established by governing agencies to ensure optimal patient safety and customer service.
At Houston Methodist, the Unit Administrative Assistant (UAA) position performs key functions that support the interprofessional team in delivering high quality, cost-effective care. This position assists with the process for transfers or transport for procedures and employs effective communication skills in all interactions and promotes excellent customer relations. The UAA position provides prompt and personalized service to all patients, responding to the nurse call system as appropriate, contacting nursing personnel, and follows through with meeting patient needs. This position oversees multiple priorities and uses organizational skills to maintain an orderly environment and maintains competency requirements for computer medical terminology and other job-related functions, while practicing Patient and Family Centered Care in concert with Houston Methodist ICARE values: Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Excellence.

At Houston Methodist, the Endoscopy Technician I (Endo Tech) position, under the direction of a Registered Nurse and/or physician, provides support to the gastroenterology (GI) providers and other members of the healthcare team and is directly involved in patient care before, during and after procedures. This position assists with gastroenterology (GI) endoscopy procedures related to preparation for and assisting with room turnaround activities for procedures, which include cleaning and processing of endoscopes and accessory equipment. The Endo Tech I position is familiar with all endoscopy supplies and other related equipment ensuring that items are ready, available and in good working conditions at all times. Other duties for this position will include department upkeep, as delegated by licensed personnel.
