About the Position: The incumbent will serve as a Lead Police Officer for the Military Ocean Terminal located at Sunny Point Army Terminal in Southport, North Carolina. Responsibilities Serve as the Team Leader who is an assistant to the Supervisory Police Officer. Respond to and investigates emergency calls, complaints and other calls for service. Exercise search and apprehension authority, detain witnesses, apprehend suspects, interview witnesses and other persons involved, determine whether facts warrant apprehension or lesser action. Participate in antiterrorism committees and fusion cells and directly protect critical resources to include Arms, Ammunition and Explosives, and other classified objects moving through the Military Ocean Terminal via rail, ship or vehicle. Conduct waterside security patrols of U.S. Military, non-military, and foreign ships at berth which may contain explosives; associated equipment used for loading and unloading vessels at berth; three wharves and other waterfront facilities.
