Job Description Position Overview Under supervision, responsible for performing a range of common manual labor duties including, but not limited to, lifting and moving materials, loading and unloading lawn care products from vehicles, digging and refilling holes and routine grounds maintenance tasks. Provides assistance to others in an overall team effort. This is a temporary position for a duration of 4 to 5 months. Responsibilities Utilizes tablet to read production schedule, customer order or work order to determine items to be moved, gathered, distributed or serviced. Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas. Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed. Operates and/or maintains equipment such as a lawn tractors, ride -on units, spreaders, aerators and seeders. Performs routine grounds maintenance or grounds equipment maintenance in accordance with established safety procedures. Interacts with the customer onsite as needed to receive further direction regarding area to be serviced. May engage in snow or ice removal ice from walks, driveways or parking lots. About the Position: Ice Harbor Project is a multi-purpose hydropower project, with missions including operation and maintenance of the facility for flood control, hydroelectric power generation with six main generating units, navigation locks, fish facility, recreation and natural resources management. Responsibilities Inspects, installs, repairs, maintains, tests, modifies and adjusts equipment, facilities and structures related to public use, general project operations, water control, and utility systems. Inspects, maintains and repairs structures, equipment and facilities through lubrication, part replacement and system adjustment. Services and performs minor repairs on internal combustion engine and electrical powered equipment. Performs metal fabrication, modification and repair through gas and arc welding, grinding and finishing. Performs irrigation planning, installation, rehab and maintenance system projects. Performs duties such as rehabbing Environmental Stewardship and Recreational based facilities. Skilled in operating all associated tools and equipment related to the sub journeyman level skills. Experience operating and maintaining forklifts, backhoes, and tractor-trailers. Performing daily operation checks of this equipment. Physical effort: Exerts heavy physical effort in doing such tasks as frequently lifting and moving objects weighing under 45 pounds unassisted, obtains assistance or uses appropriate equipment or safety devices when lifting and moving heavy objects greater than 45 pounds. Physical dexterity is needed to handle tools and work around machinery or equipment. Working Conditions: Work is generally performed outdoors in all extremes of weather, in and over water, in wildland vegetation, in flood control and building structures.
