Summary About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the National Ground Intelligence Center, Enterprise Operations Directorate, Security Division, Charlottesville, VA 22911 Responsibilities Serves as a Police Officer, to maintain law and order within the federal jurisdiction of National Ground Intelligence Center (NGIC) facilities in accordance with applicable laws, regulations and established procedures. Observes conduct of individuals to detect suspicious behavior or intent to disturb peace and order. Investigates unusual or suspicious circumstances. Prevents unauthorized access to NGIC facilities, materials and information. Monitors physical security of the facility through closed circuit television and various alarm systems. Enforces NGIC procedures and regulations on access to facilities, ensuring that all individuals entering NGIC facilities have proper identification, clearances and access documentation. Ensures that Center employees adhere to established secure operating procedures. Inspects packages, equipment, and hand carried articles entering and leaving facilities, to enforce compliance with classified and compartmented materials controls. Prevents unauthorized access to NGIC facilities, materials and information.
